Bringing Families and Caregivers Together

 When I decided to return to work after my second maternity leave, we were looking for childcare options for my 5 year old and newborn. I felt uncomfortable leaving my infant in a "traditional" daycare environment, and wanted my 5 year old to come home from school and find someone at home who would provide the same loving environment as I would myself. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs and juggling travel, school and extracurricular activities as well as cooking and day to day tasks at home seemed overwhelming. I contacted Nannies Direct and discussed the option of having a permanent live-in caregiver. I was surprised to find out how relatively inexpensive it was, and how much Richie and Heather truly care about the families they service and the girls they bring over from abroad. They assisted us throughout the interview process and all of the subsequent administrative requirements. Our nanny (Jenny) arrived here in August and has made such a difference in our lives, and the lives of our children. She has genuinely become part of our family, and is a dedicated, loyal employee and friend. She provides a loving, comfortable home environment for my children and makes our lives much less stressful overall. I am Jenifer  from La Union Philippines. I worked in Hong Kong as a Domestic Helper for almost 2 years.

Now I am here in Canada as a Live-In-Caregiver, I look after 2 children for a Canadian Family. My Employer is great and wonderful. They provide me with everything I need and they treat me as a member of their family. I have 2 days off every weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Really, working here in Canada is much easier compared to Hong Kong. I have freedom and respect as a person.

I am very thankful to Nannies Direct, for without them, I may not be here. I came to know Nannies Direct through a friend of mine and without any hesitation I sent my application form and was hired. Nannies Direct Staff are very helpful to me and very supportive in all ways. They don’t ask for a placement fee until they are sure that both employer and employee are happy with the arrangements.  After a long and worrisome search for daycare service, we decided to take an alternate approach of looking at live-in nanny caregiver services. We did extensive searching on the Internet for a credible agency which we felt would provide us with the necessary support and assurance throughout the entire experience and found that with Nannies Direct.ca. Even though Nannies Direct is located in Orangeville, just outside of Toronto (and we live in Ottawa), there were no real obstacles from this distance in the hiring process.
 
Heather has been extremely helpful in assisting us to make the right choice for a nanny, and also too in guiding us through the details of hiring and processing the appropriate paperwork. Equally, Richie has also been very instrumental in assisting "Genevieve", our new wonderful nanny, in getting established as a newcomer to Canada. The whole process seems relatively easy once it is explained from both cultural perspectives which the Nannies Direct team can do. Our son is the most precious aspect of our lives and having Genevieve around to love and protect our child as if he were her own gives us tremendous piece of mind. Coming home to a tidy and organized house also has its advantages for two busy professionals.
